Skopje, 6 March 2018 (MIA) - Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met Tuesday with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Miroslav Jenca, who conveyed the message of support from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to Macedonia's reforms and policies of friendship.

Jenca, who was accompanied by UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Skopje Louisa Vintion, said the UN has noted the Government's policies of tolerance for diversities, aimed at stability and prosperity of Macedonia and the region in general, the Government said in a press release.

PM Zaev highlighted the Government's commitment to EU and NATO integration, which opens the country's economic perspectives.

"We are in the middle of the reform process, working on the establishment of the rule of law and economic development, as well as enhancing good neighborly relations. We are building one society for all, through inclusive policies of cooperation on important issues. We highly appreciate the support from the UN, Secretary-General Guterres and envoy Matthew Nimetz in bringing stability to Macedonia and the entire Balkans," said Zaev.

UN Assistant Secretary-General Jenca thanked the Government for its support to the reforms initiated by Guterres and saluted the active cooperation with resident coordinator Vinton in implementing the UN sustainable development agenda focused on improvement of people's lives, reads the press release. ik/12:53
