Skopje, 21 April 2017 (MIA) - SDSM leader Zoran Zaev met Friday with Italian Ambassador to Macedonia Carlo Romeo whereat they underlined the need of unblocking the democratic process in the interest of the citizens as well as country’s stability and prospects.
Macedonia must move forward. Parliamentary majority will take next steps by electing new parliament speaker and new reform-oriented government, in accordance with the Constitution, the Rules of Procedure and laws in the Republic of Macedonia, Zaev said at the meeting, SDSM said in a press release.
There is a legitimate parliamentary majority of 67 MPs supported by around of 700.000 citizens, programme of new reform government in Macedonia and no one has the right to stop the democratic changes, Zaev said.
At the meeting they underlined that need of peaceful transfer of power through respect of democratic principles. Talks were also focused on risks from prolonged unblocking of democratic process whereat Zaev underlined that they would not allow consequences to the detriment of citizens and the state for the interests of individuals. sk/13:59
