Coming elections are part of Brussels' expectations over reforms in Macedonia: spokesperson

Coming elections are part of Brussels

Brussels, 11 September 2017 (MIA) - The European Union supports Macedonia's reform efforts and that clearly includes the expectations when it comes to the upcoming elections, said European Commission Spokesperson Maja Kocijancic on Monday, MIA reports from Brussels.

"We have made clear our position of what we expect when it comes to fYR Macedonia. We have said very clearly that the government together with the new opposition need to put the divisions aside and work jointly on implementation of the Urgent Reform Priorities and the Przino Agreement to bring the country back on the Euro-Atlantic integration path. We are supporting the reform efforts and that clearly includes the expectations when it comes to the upcoming elections and the way forward when it comes to all the reforms that have been clearly mapped out", said Kocijancic in reference to the accusations by the opposition that the authorities are preparing for an election fraud at the October local polls. ik/14:09
