Skopje, 14 February 2018 (MIA) - The pharmaceutical company Prodis should pay over EUR 150,000 in penalties for failing to adhere to duties regulated under an agreement for investing in the Bunardzik industrial and development zone in Skopje.
Under the contract, the company should have employed at least 100 people in one year, but it had breached the contract in 2015 and 2016," government spokesman Mile Bosnjakovski said Wednesday.
"According to what we have been informed, 40 people were employed during this period. As a result, the Agency for Foreign Investments has launched a procedure to recoup money after the collection of penalties for 2015 and 2016 has been activated," he told a news conference.
The company Prodis in Macedonia is an investment of the Russian pharmaceutical holding Protek Group that has been producing homeopathic medicine, organic and non-organic products and tea. The company was inaugurated in October 2012. ba/12:57
