2nd International Film Festival “Kinenova” kicks off

Skopje, 6 October 2017 (MIA) - The 2nd International Film Festival “Kinenova” which presents debut films by many new filmmakers opens Friday evening with screening of the film “Men Don’t Cry” by Alen Drljevic in Skopje-based Millennium Cinema.

Moreover, the short film “The End of Time” film by Milcho Manchevski will be premiered the same evening, while festival’s organisers will present special recognition to actor Zarko Lausevic, who is the special guest star of “Kinenova.”

Besides Lausevic, another famous name of the Yugoslav film - Goran Markovic, who will chair the jury, will also be present at "Kinenova", and will also hold a master class.

The festival, which runs until October 11, will include films from all over the world from among a director’s first and second feature films selected by Marina Kostova. Official festival awards for best feature film, best director and best screenplay according to the festival audience will be presented in a competition of a total of ten films from nine countries (Israel, Canada, Costa Rica, Romania, Venezuela, the Netherlands, America, Bosnia and Spain).

Festival’s official programme will also include short films and additional, non-contesting programmes: World cinema overview, Kino Balkan: Overview of the Balkan cinematography, Macedonian short and 0% censored.

The film screenings will be held in Cineplex and Millennium cinemas, Kultura cinema and Cinematheque of Macedonia. sk/09:16
