Osmani: Government, opposition in attempt to reach consensus on several Plan 3-6-9 measures

Skopje, 7 March 2018 (MIA) - Several measures of reform Plan 3-6-9 have been red-flagged and delayed, while ruling and opposition parties are in intensive talks to reach consensus, said Vice Premier for European Affairs Bujar Osmani on Wednesday.

Osmani failed to specify the measures but said legislation in the fields of judiciary and security services is in the focus of the talks.

He stressed there is progress in the communication among political parties, building of basic trust towards more essential discussion on specific legislation.

"There is no outcome yet, but we are on the right path," added Osmani.

The Vice Premier held a press conference prior to the presentation of the Plan 3-6-9 implementation status before EU ambassadors by himself, Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska, Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, Justice Minister Bilen Saliji and Minister of Information Society and Administration Damjan Mancevski.

The plan includes measures that have to be implemented by mid-April, i.e. by the release of the European Commission progress reports.

"We seek the support from ambassadors for a merit-based report and a fair chance for Macedonia to move forward in the Euro-integration process," said Osmani.

He stressed that Macedonia has returned to the Euro-integration path, reforms will intensify as the country starts the negotiating process but also after the country joins the Union.

"The adoption of laws, strategies and regulations should be reflected in daily life, in the work of judges, public administration, security services, officials, managers," underlined Osmani. ik/12:25
