People hired under Ohrid Accord to be offered jobs in public sector: minister

Skopje, 8 March 2018 (MIA) - People employed in line with the Ohrid Framework Agreement, who haven't been assigned with a job, will be offered to work both in the public administration and in the public sector. It means they will be engaged in schools, kindergartens, health institutions, public enterprises, etc.

"1,600 people employed under the Ohrid Accord will be offered a job, but they don't have to accept it. If they refuse, the employees will be put on a transfer list for a job offer in a different institution if they deem it acceptable," Minister of Information Society and Administration Damjan Mancevski stated Thursday.

We, he said, will start with distributing the staff that meets the conditions for a managerial post, followed by distribution of other positions. It refers not only to 1,600 people hired under the Ohrid Agreement, it applies to all civil servants in general.

"What we are doing in general is an operation of seeking employees within the administration, of reorganizing," Mancevski told reporters.

The Minister said the process was expected to start in coming weeks and could last for an unspecified time. ba/14:46
