Skopje, 6 March 2018 (MIA) - The first four contracts for allocation of funds from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance for Rural Development of the European Union (IPARD 2014-2020) have been signed Tuesday.
Signatories are users of the third measure of the programme which refers to investments in tangible assets for processing and marketing of agricultural and fishery products, and are among 1.600 applications submitted at the public call for allocation of funds published by the Agency for Financial Support of the Agriculture and Rural Development, which was closed in July 2017.
Nikolce Babovski, Director of the Agency for Financial Support of the Agriculture and Rural Development, said that the activities undertaken in the past eight months showed that the state is fully committed to using the available €60 million with the IPARD programme for the period 2014-2020.
“We have signed four contracts for co-financing of €500.000 i.e. share which will be obtained through IPARD programme is over €250.000 thus showing the seriousness with which we have committed ourselves in using these funds,” Babovski said.
Agriculture Minister Ljupco Nikolovski said that Agency for Financial Support of the Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to sign the rest of the contracts for measures and approved projects. Majority of the funds will be paid, followed by publishing two public calls from IPARD programme.
Nikolovski said that the first phase for staff hiring in the Agency for Financial Support of the Agriculture and Rural Development has been completed, following the job advertisement for hiring 28 employees that will work on IPARD programme. Nikolovski also said that 2018 would be successful for use of EU funds available for domestic agriculture. sk/13:11
