Skopje, 20 November 2017 (MIA) - Macedonia and Albania are faced witth similar challenges and their cooperation is just a confirmation of the friendly relations, which are to be advanced by boosting the collaboration in the spheres of economy, infrastructure and energy sectors, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and President Ilir Meta respectively said Monday in Skopje.
Our meeting reaffirms the principles of good-neighborliness, mutual respect and reciprocity, Zaev said, pointing out that the governments of both countries would hold a joint session in Albania's city of Podgradec.
The two affirmed the readiness of both countries to cooperate in realization of road, railroad infrastructure. They also underlined the significance of the cooperation in the spheres of culture, education and sports, the government said in a press release.
There is room for the two countries to bolster the trade exchange, Zaev and Meta agreed.
'We are building a society for all. We have pledged for all citizens to enjoy equal rights, responsibilities and for equitable development of all parts of the country,' Zaev said.
He commended Albania's support of Macedonia's bid to join NATO, as well as the cooperation between the two countries in speeding up their EU-integration.
President Meta reaffirmed his country's support of Macedonia's efforts to join the Euro-Atlantic organizations. He also reiterated Tirana's commitment to respecting the culture, identity of minority communities in Albania.
PM Zaev said he expected for Macedonians living in Albania to enjoy same collective rights throughout the whole country.
He also notified the need of restoring the Macedonia-Albania Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation. lk/20:31
