VMRO-DPMNE's Mickoski calls for political dialogue to settle differences over key issues

Skopje, 2 February 2018 (MIA) - Political dialogue is needed to settle differences regarding key processes in the country, which should be established with willingness from the ruling majority, VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski said at a meeting with members of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament, Victor Bostinaru, Tanja Fajon and Tonino Picula.

Talks focused on current social and political developments and the strategic priorities of the Republic of Macedonia to become a member of the European Union and NATO, the opposition party said in a press release.

VMRO-DPMNE, Mickoski said, stands ready to support any solution and reform process it deems it is in the interest of the country and for strengthening of democratic processes provided that they are in the interest of all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.

The VMRO-DPMNE leader told the MEPs that the current administration had orchestrated political repression of the citizens, including opposition MPs. This act has been setting the country back and obstructing the democratic process, according to Mickoski.

Also, at the meeting with the MEPs, he voiced serious concern over the economic climate and situation in Macedonia, stated the press release.

Furthermore, the visiting MEPs during their visit have met with PM Zoran Zaev and DUI leader Ali Ahmeti. ba/14:16
