Sugareski: Land expropriation hinders gasification process in Prilep and Tetovo

Skopje, 14 November 2017 (MIA) - The significant amount of the planned MKD 2.19 billion for gasification process planned in the 2018 draft budget are intended for large number of expropriations of the land, which are the key problem for this project, Minister of Transport and Communications Goran Sugareski told Tuesday.

Particularly, there is a serious problem on the connection line from Negotino to Bitola, in the part before Prilep, where a huge number of land expropriations are registered, and the same case is in Tetovo. Good part of the funds envisaged for gasification refer to the land expropriation to be done in order to faster complete the gas pipeline system, Sugareski told reporters while participating in the forum on regulations in the field of spatial planning, construction land and construction works.

Sugareski said that gasification, for which MKD 310 million are planned more than last year, is significantly important project for the citizens and is part of government’s programme.

The Ministry of Transport and Communication’s budget envisages increased capital expenditures for the construction of a gas pipeline in the amount of MKD 150 million, MKD 50 million for cable car, MKD 20 million more for the construction of social housing and for the infrastructure arrangement of Vizbegovo zone as well as additional MKD 63 million for the "Sunny City" project.

The foreseen MKD 3.5 billion for the road and railway infrastructure in the 2018 draft budget are also intended for the Demir Kapija-Smokvica highway, which is expected to be completed next year, for reconstruction of several roads, construction of the railway line on the Corridor 8, completion of the Bitola - Kremenica railway, rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure on the Corridor 10, construction of the Gradsko-Drenovo road… sk/14:34
