Skopje, 21 February 2018 (MIA) - Digitized films and a DVD of the body of work of Macedonian film director Branko Gapo were promoted Wednesday at the Cinematheque of Macedonia.
These include the films 'Days of Temptation', 'A Time without War', 'A Shot', 'The Longest Journey', 'Water' and 'Macedonian Saga'.
It is our duty and obligation to preserve the feature films of one of the most renowned and award-winning Macedonian film-makers, Branko Gapo, Minister of Culture Robert Alagjozovski said noting that his films had been shown all over the world thus promoting Macedonian history, literature and culture.
"Ten years since his passing, we are extremely honored to be promoting this DVD of the digitally restored movie opus of the auteur who had left a permanent mark in Macedonian cinema. Gapo's films are cult classics that have been permanently embedded in the collective memory of our contemporary culture," he stated.
Branko Gapo (1931-2008) is considered one of the most famous and prolific Macedonian directors having directed over 40 documentaries, six feature films, and a number of plays made for theatre, TV and radio. ba/17:38
