Skopje, 19 April 2018 (MIA) - The construction of a new building housing the Turkish Theater in Skopje will be completed in cooperation with the general directorate of the national theaters of Turkey, which brings together over 65 national theater institutions.
So far, only the shell of the building in downtown Skopje has been finished and it remains vacant ever since. After negotiations, both Macedonia and Turkey pledged to complete its construction.
"It is in the interest of the Ministry of Culture to work efficiently in order the Turkish Theater to be provided with proper work conditions all the while the building is finished in line with precise contracts for which negotiations are under way with our friends in Turkey," Minister of Culture Robert Alagjozovski told reporters while visiting the site.
Initial estimation about the financial construction will be delivered in late June.
"After a decision of the government and talks with Turkey, an adequate dynamic will be outlined to complete the construction and to furnish the Turkish Theater as soon as possible. The Turkish Theater will be something that the Turkish community, and the citizens in Macedonia in general, will be proud of," said minister without portfolio Adnan Kahil. ba/18:17
