Possibilities for development of fast-growing youth businesses promoted

Skopje, 16 May 2018 (MIA) - The possibilities of using support from the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development were presented Wednesday before start-up businesses that have used funds from the self-employment programme of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.

Minister Mila Carovska said inter-institutional cooperation can yield effects, both in the employment of youth and building the entrepreneurial spirit.

"Last year we established 165 start-ups that employ 191 people and they have all been invited, especially those having an innovative component," said Carovska.

She added that all businesses can now apply for continual support from the state, towards supporting their growth.

Fund director Jovan Despotovski said the event aims at presenting the funding possibilities before start-ups that have potential to become fast-growing businesses.

"The objective is to improve the coordination between the Fund and the Ministry and offer a complete package fore youth support, starting from the education and employment up to the business start-up," said Despotovski.

He stressed there are talks with the Ministry over putting all measures into a single system, so that youth in Macedonia get a job and have a chance to develop further. ik/14:55
