Brussels, 27 May 2018 (MIA) - Macedonia and progress in name talks will be one of the main topics at EU’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting on Monday.
EU foreign ministers will convene for regular ministerial council, several weeks prior to June EU Summit at which European leaders should decide on EC recommendation for opening accession negotiations with Macedonia and Albania.
Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy will brief ministers of 28 EU member states on negotiation process, while Macedonian and Greek foreign ministers Nikola Dimitrov and Nikos Kotzias will continue the negotiations in Brussels following New York round of name talks.
It has been announced that Bulgaria which currently holds the rotating EU Presidency, together with Austria, which will take over EU Presidency as of July 1, 2018, will organise a working breakfast which will be attended by European ministers and FM Dimitrov, MIA correspondent reports from Brussels. This will be an opportunity EU minister to get acquainted for the ongoing name talks, EU sources in Brussels said.
Earlier on Sunday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that FM Nikola Dimitrov is to pay Monday and Tuesday a working visit to Brussels. sk/13:53
