Skopje, 2 February 2018 (MIA) - Members of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament, Victor Bostinaru, Tanja Fajon and Tonino Picula, reaffirmed Friday at a meeting with Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, their support for Macedonia to advance on its road to the EU membership.
The meeting tackled Macedonia's EU-integration process and the necessary reforms to that effect, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Dimitrov highlighted the government's commitment to focus on implementing the key reforms, which should promptly lift the conditions for a recommendation to start negotiations with the EU and secure a date for launching the accession talks. He extended gratitude to the European Parliament for its support and constructive approach to Macedonia's EU-accession process, the press release reads.
Macedonia deserves an opportunity to join the European family, the MEPs said. lk/15:48
