Sofia, 18 May 2018 (MIA) - Implementation of economic reforms towards attracting investments, support to projects improving transport and energy infrastructure, possibilities for increase of funds coming from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Western Balkans, greater cooperation among governments and businessmen, as well as joint investments are in the focus of the economic segment of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Sofia, said Danela Arsovska, president of the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce (SSK) at Thursday's opening of the Vienna Economic Forum.
"The regulatory reform is given priority, as well as the energy and transport markets, reduction of informal economy, consistency of policies, rule of law, attraction and maintenance of investment, which are crucial in achieving economic growth, competitiveness and improved living standard," said Arsovska.
According to her, it is necessary to use funds at disposal in order to build a strong economic network with countries of the Western Balkans, as well as a single market that brings the area closer to the EU.
The Vienna Economic Forum resumes on Friday with the participation of the Western Balkans prime ministers. ik/12:35
