National Bank Governor, Finance Minister attend IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings 2018 in Indonesia

Skopje, 12 October 2018 (MIA) - A delegation led by Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM) Anita Angelovska-Bezovska and Finance Minister Dragan Tevdovski participates at 2018 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) in Indonesia.

The delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with IMF and WBG senior representatives, including the Executive Director at the World Bank Group, Frank Heemskerk, Country Director of a World Bank for Southeast Europe, Europe and Central Asia Region, Linda Van Gelder, World Bank Regional Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Cyril Muller, IMF Executive Director, Anthony de Lannoy, Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund, Poul M. Thomsen, IFC Director for the Europe and Central Asia region, Wiebke Schloemer, IFC Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Europe and Central Asia, Georgina Baker, managerial teams from investment funds and banks, and other senior officials, NBRM said in a press release.

Tevdovski will address Friday a high-level event, opened by the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, Ministry of Finance said in a press release.

Tevdovski is to deliver remarks on topic “Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in a Changing World: Localization, Inclusiveness, and Investing for Impact.” He will refer to the sustainable development goals and reforms carried out in the country.

OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria, EIB President Werner Hoyer and Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), David Beasley, are scheduled to address the event.

The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness. sk/09:10
